15th Century Cottage
L'Oiseau Bleu or blue birds as it is translated into English, is a – 16th Century Holiday Home located in the shadow of the famous Rochechouart Chateau in the Haute-Vienne region of France.
The riverside cottage is a unique property built during the early part of the 16th century including some meteorite rock with walls up to 4 feet thick in places, so this will ensure of a cool place to escape the sizzling temperatures in the summer. It is located on its own in the valley just out side the walled town of Rochechouart.
There is space to sleep six people comfortably; all the rooms are larger than normal.
The cottage garden has a barbeque area, fruit trees, flowers and vines all located by the tranquil river.
Everything you need is provided, such as all bedding and a fully equipped kitchen-diner.
The holiday home is full of original features, beams, arch window and at the top of the stairs is the old stone washing sink.
You will be pleased to know that there is a modern bath room, no need to use the 15th century stone sink !!!!!!
